new year’s resolution (not!)

Well, not really a resolution per se. I haven’t done those in years, seeing as I kept breaking them. This is more of what I want to do this year. Hope to do anyway.  I’d really, really like to seriously study photography in 2008. I’ve always been enamored  with it and am actually earning a bit of income with some of the photos I’ve taken. Not much really and besides the money is just a bonus.

Philosophy and poetry are other things I’d like to learn more of this coming year. As is learning a new language (preferably French). It’s funny, when I was in school, the only way I’d learn about them was if you force-fed me and even then, you’d have to pry open my mouth first. It’s weird in a sensible kind of way.

I’d like to write and finish a story for a change. Doesn’t matter if it’s long or short or a 100-word drabble. Actually, you could say I already accomplished this. I finished a fluff piece (of less than 500 words) a couple of weeks ago and even posted it up at Livejournal for feedback (under a pseudonym, of course). It was kinda cool . . . scary, but cool. I made someone go "aaww!". It was the highlight of my day hehehe. It was pretty neat when the people who were commenting rather favorably were the people who’s work I’ve been reading and liked in the past.

So, there we have it . . . my new year’s resolution, but not really. More like my new year’s to-do list hehehe . . .
