Just Me

floods, feasts and friends . . . oh my!

Two days of rain result in a very watery fiesta and that’s an understatement. Still even the knee-deep flood waters (and still growing at the time of this writing) couldn’t stop the feast. How could we? Karag it pagkaon, di ba? And besides, the adventures of various folks passing through our house provided ample entertainment. Flood2_1 I know that sounds mean, but trust me, every one of those people were laughing just as much. Well . . . okay not exactly laughing, but they were amused. After all, there wasn’t much they could do about the whole thing, except smile and look forward to a hot meal when they reach their destinations.Fiestaflood

Good thing, my friends managed to reach our house. I thought that they’d turn back, because of the traffic and the flood. I should have known that nothing can keep them away from free food hehehe . . . balitaw, I was glad to see them. Flood3 Finally met Janet’s beau, Alex. Funny guy. And don’t ask why I’ve got a weird position in that pic. Cynthia (the one taking the picture and Janet’s younger sis) caught me at a bad time :D .

yeah . . . yeah . . . i’m obsessed :D

I can’t help it. I just love the goddamn movie. Why? Hmm . . . lotsa things. I can’t really explain it. Maybe it’s the witty banter between the stars of the movie, or maybe it’s the solid writing . . . or maybe it’s how Jordana Brewster plays the “evil” nemesis of the D.E.B.S., Lucy Diamond (this girl has a seriously charming grin. grabe!). Lucy1 Or maybe it’s simply because I wish they had thought to make this movie when I was a teen. Whatever the reason, one has to admit, this movie has charm. Lots of it. It’s satirical, tongue firmly in cheek and it doesn’t take itself seriously. And if you do, you’re gonna totally miss the point.

And don’t let me get started with the soundtrack. Naku, ang ganda. The music is spot on and very light-hearted yung feeling without being cheesy. This is a good movie. Sayang nga lang na hindi siya masyadong well known. I wouldn’t have heard of it, if not for one website that I frequented putting up a review. I think I’m going insane LOL. I’ve watched this movie several times in two weeks. Obssessed much? Hehehe. There’s been only one other movie that I’ve obsessed over and that’s “The Goonies”. I remember renting it one summer when I was a kid. By the end of it, I had the script memorized LOL . . .

Anyway, since I posted the lyrics of the opening credits song last time, I thought I’d go for broke and post the end credits one. This one is from a band called “The Weekend”. You can also view the music video here.

In To The Morning
D.E.B.S (The Weekend)

Thinkin’ of you, yeah, I think of you all day,
Think of your kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss on my lips…
I’ll remember this always.

Got the goofiest grin, got a big smile on my face.
Hey, you, let’s get out, out, out of this place.
Grab my hand, let’s go!

See, it’s young love at its best!
And I tell you I’ll remember…

Breakin’ you out through your bedroom window,
Sneakin’ you into my parents’ house,
Stayin’ out all night, into the morning,
Into the morning.

Breakin’ you out through your bedroom window,
Sneakin’ you into my parents’ house,
Stayin’ out all night, into the morning,
Until the sun comes up and ruins it all…

Monday morning, first class, ditch it.
We’ll hang out, out, out in the parking lot,
Only the two of us…

We’ll make out ’til the stars come up, lay and watch them.
That one looks just like the one in your eyes…
grab my hand, let’s go!

Young love at its best!
And I tell you I’ll remember…

Breakin’ you out through your bedroom window,
Sneakin’ you into my parents’ house,
Stayin’ out all night, into the morning,
Into the morning.

Breakin’ you out through your bedroom window,
Sneakin’ you into my parents’ house,
Stayin’ out all night, into the morning,
Until the sun comes up and ruins it all…

peach schnapps, hangin’ out in our underwear,
Goin’ to parties and leavin’, ’cause there’s no one there.
Skip third class, ’cause really? We don’t even care
anything at all.

We’ll get tattoos we swear we’ll never hate,
Break the rules and stay out way too late.
Well, ain’t life grand? But isn’t great
Having no care in the world?

See, it’s young love at its best!
And I tell you I’ll remember…

Breakin’ you out through your bedroom window,
Sneakin’ you into my parents’ house,
Stayin’ out all night, into the morning,
Into the morning.

Breakin’ you out through your bedroom window,
Sneakin’ you into my parents’ house,
Stayin’ out all night, into the morning,
Until the sun comes up and ruins it all…

Well, it’s young love at its best,
And it’s you that I’ll remember…
